Hi! I’m Dr. Roop Sandhu,
Winnipeg Chiropractor and Overall Life Enthusiast
I was born and raised in Winnipeg and it is with great excitement that I return to my dear hometown to do what I love – help members of my community improve their health and wellbeing through the natural approach of chiropractic.
My plan wasn’t always to be a chiropractor. It was actually to do health research. I was completing a four-year degree at the University of Winnipeg along with an honours thesis project at one of the world’s leading cardiovascular institutes, when I realized something was missing. Don’t get me wrong, I was grateful for the opportunity and immensely admired my colleagues, but at the end of the day, I felt incomplete. It wasn’t until I spoke to a good friend (who happened to be a chiropractor) that I figured out what that missing link was - it was the personal interaction with people.
I came to the realization that I needed to embark on a value-centered career that comprised of my top two priorities in life - family and health. As I learned more about chiropractic and visited local offices, I was amazed at what I was seeing and hearing. The concept behind chiropractic care was simple yet so profound: a healthy spine equates to a healthy nervous system, which ultimately results in a healthy you. The wheels were in motion in my mind. I saw chiropractic as a great medium to educate members of my family and community on ways to live happy and healthier lives. And so I set forth on becoming a chiropractor...
After graduating from the University of Winnipeg with a four-year honours degree in biology, I attended New York Chiropractic College. My four years at chiropractic college proved to be the most challenging, yet, rewarding years of my life. In April of 2010, I graduated at the top of my class with high honours and was fortunate enough to receive numerous awards for my extracurricular efforts. These included the Alumni Class President Award, Lorraine Welch Memorial Award and the Distinguished Service Award. In addition to my doctorate in chiropractic, I am certified in whole foods nutrition and Active Release Technique (A.R.T), the gold standard for management of soft tissue injuries.
It is an unfortunate reality that there is a huge portion of our population that is unhealthy, and the numbers only continue to rise – especially in areas where lifestyle-related diseases (diabetes, cancer, heart disease) are concerned. The solution to this healthcare crisis is to have more people adopt healthier habits. It is my mission to educate people of all ages on whole body health and to empower them to live up to their true potential. Chiropractic allows me to guide you as your doctor in becoming a better you. A healthy nervous system, proper diet and exercise are the cornerstones in achieving this.
I look forward to partnering with you in your health and wellness journey. I am here to help. Give me a call or send an email and let’s arrange a time to explore your health goals and options. Health, happiness and vitality await you!
