Introducing Winnipeg Chiropractor, Dr. Bob Chalaturnyk

Dr. Robert Chalaturnyk

My name is Dr. Bob Chalaturnyk, born in Russell, Manitoba, Canada.

Stubborn and headstrong since birth, I have been a victim of my own curiosity on many occasions… from falling out of cribs, moving automobiles and snowmobiles, to Greco-Roman wrestling at the University of Manitoba. I was told by a fellow classmate to go to a chiropractor because he couldn’t stand the way I was fidgeting and distracting class while in my final year of science at the University of Manitoba. I wasn’t sure what a chiropractor was. I had seen several medical doctors over the years, as well as the athletic and physiotherapist on staff, and I thought that was all I could do.

To make a long story short, I was amazed at how much better I functioned and felt after chiropractic care. My curiosity was aroused and I had to find out how the doctor of chiropractic did that, so I enrolled at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where I graduated in 1977. I was always inclined to be a Boy Scout kind of person, having had achieved my Queen Scout proficiency level in 1967 while living in Morden, Manitoba. It was a perfect fit for me to become a chiropractor.

I have been a chiropractor in Manitoba for 30 years, and have motivated many others to seek chiropractic care and several others to pursue it as a career. My basic outlook has been that the body was designed to be self-healing by our creator, provided there was no interference. I see my job as being the doctor who diagnoses what that interference is and how to remove that interference so that the body can then repair itself as design intended. Keep it simple, make a plan, follow the plan, get healthy and stay healthy.

My personal life involved working as a Seasonal Park Naturalist on Hecla Island in the 1970’s, where I met and married my wife, Mary Ann, 32 years ago. She was a school teacher, musician and vocalist, and later managed my own clinic. Together we have three sons: Andrew, Matthew and Robert.

Since becoming involved with the Polo Park Chiropractic office in a semi-retired capacity, I have had more time to pursue my interest in cross-country skiing, mountain biking and reading. Windsurfing is also a passion of mine, as well as bird watching and other nature lore. I get regular supportive chiropractic care to help maintain my active lifestyle.

Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? I hope you’re as curious as I was. Give us a call!

Dr. Arnold Asks some important questions of interest to Winnipeg residents - Chiropractor Winnipeg Dr. Arnold Asks...

Can chiropractic cure a child's ear infections?
Chiropractic isn't a cure for anything. Nor is it a treatment for ear infections. However, many children who suffer with ear infections also suffer from spinal problems in their neck, compromising nerves to the ear, depressing the immune system and preventing proper drainage. Can chiropractic help? Find out!
What causes vertebral subluxations?
Chiropractors acknowledge three types of stress: physical, chemical and emotional. When the adaptive capacity of your body is compromised, weakened areas along the spine can become involved. Muscles tighten, spinal joints lock up and nearby nerves are affected. The purpose of chiropractic care is to find these areas and restore balance, alignment and motion.
